Ah, the saga of the moebius by Cat Bordhi (Ravelry). Actually, this was a pretty easy and fun knit, and if I had been paying more attention it would have turned out the right size. Begin at the beginning, right?When I started the wrap, I had four skeins of this bamboo yarn and wanted to do something wrap-like with it. I'm not a shawl kind of girl, and I thought about designing my own wrap, but I was inspired by this pattern's twists. Bernat Bamboo Natural Blends (Ravelry) fit the bill of what Bordhi called for in her description of good substitutes for her pattern.
Well, I liked the way my double moss stitch swatch came out better than what I had been thinking anyway, so I cast on and went to town. Then I went past town. I may have already mentioned this, but I was knitting in a meeting and couldn't hold it up to size. It ended up being a couple inches too wide for my shoulders, and my choices were to rip back or to start over. I considered both, but I'd only screwed up one pair of stitches! Every time I've ripped back I've messed it up and lost two to three times what I meant to, so I reallllly didn't want to rip back. I could have started over and made it taller given that I had over a skein left, but I decided instead to try crocheting a border around the edge to tighten it up. (Single crochet only alternating between a regular sc and sc two together... I can't remember the notation for that.) That worked like a charm. The FO doesn't drape like Bordhi's does - but it did until I put the edge on (in case you're considering using the yarn for this project). I liked the drape, but not with the ill fit, so this was my improvisation. The result is cuddly, and I like that, too.
If you have any recommendations for a simple project with about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 skeins of this yarn, let me know. I was thinking a calorimetry, but now that I've knit with it, I think it might be too slippery...Opinions?

I think your Moebius is beautiful - even if improvised slightly at the end! As far as the leftovers, Calorimetry is a fun and practical knit, but I don't know about your slipperiness dilemma. If you go with Calorimetry check it out in Ravelry first because mine was originally huge when I knit it and I think others had the same problem. It's easily fixed though!
That turned out beautifully! I love the color too. I may have to add this to my (growing) queue, as it seems practical, and it won't fall off or get in the way...
